HIDE's  MUSICAL  ACHIEVEMENTS  WITH  ZILICH

As in 1995 HIDE was rocking with his new band ZILICH ,
he realised the constant search of the fans for something more in the musical field. HIDE was well known as trend-setter in musical rave as in stage-fashion as well, so he kept thinking that in the Japanese Musical Market there is a huge gap between what is offered by the local bands and artists and the increasing demanding of the young public of an musical trend era with they could have easily identify themselves. HIDE was that “one of them” who managed to “escape” from the rules of Japanese society...it was the type of a guy a teenager's parents would call “a punk” a rebellious...handsomely outrageous most adored idol that type you'd listen in the dark at your 15th , hugging your teddy under the bed sheets
( I DID THAT LMFAO...and by God it seems like centuries ago :). Anywa
y this man...this beautiful soul (with dirty mind + LAUGHS+ ) , he thought he has what it takes to fill the gap...and he sure did it!
HIDE meet 2 other artists sharing his concerns and ideas about the musical world and while spending with them more and more time talking about that commune subject,
he decided that the 3 of them should create a band, a trend...a new rave on the musical stage. The band was formed as if “joking” and in the beginning they only shared experimental projects produced by RAY McVEIGH which was also the additional guitarist of the band. ( Ray it is probably known to you as from being one of the members of the legendary PUNK band SEX PISTOLS on which he played along the guitarist Steve Jones and drummer Paul Cook ). PAUL RAVEN was another artist sharing HIDE's points of view, so he will become the 3rd band member of HIDE's new born band which was called ZILICH.
Paul brought in Zilich his skill as bassist but also his British Black Humour, while “cracking” a joke he said once “ A Punk band would have been a big hit in U.K during the 80s” referring to the American Hardcore Musical Industry which
was very sophisticated in addition with people.
On July 23rd 1998 , 3,2,1 the first album of HIDE and his new born band ZILICH hits big the sales musical market . HIDE dreamed trough ZILICH nothing more or less than global expansion in
many musical fields of view, natural born entertainer he sought to offer to his public the best he could give, so a WHS tape with the "making off" was also released for/with this 1st album.

On March 23rd 2000, was released a soundtrack CD ( "INSIDE THE PERVERT MOUND") of the American movie HEAVY METAL , FAKK 2 the album included another unreleased musical work of HIDE and Zilich.
Released Oct. 3rd 2007 the CD soundtrack of the American movie “ Catacombs” it also contains the track “ BLUE BUTTERFLY” of Yoshiki's solo project with his new band VIOLET UK and the track no 9 (PSYCHE) recorded by Zilich
zilch after "3, 2, 1"

After the 1999 "Cut Your Edge Tour" had reach to the end, Ray Makuvei wasn't been reaching yet to the final decision regarding the group survival without HIDE or not so it eventually embarked on the production of Tsugisaku .
He was working for what went initially to a remake analysis of the "BastardEyes" and "3.2.1." when he started the production of the album. Although he himself was involved in the production of two musical works in parallel he tried once more to “connect” with HIDE on a spiritual plan trying the best he could to maintain Zilich Alive but the question was how? He saw himself in an urgent need to keep ZILICH's image in the listener's mind not only trough re-mixes but also trough new music which will ensure not only the band's new start but also a nice development of things.

The result of the ending of "Cut Your Edge Tour" was the separation of Paul Raven who was enrolled as an original member and has been performing in the band along with HIDE , the separation came as a a result of inner band fights and colliding points of view . Ray McVeigh wanted to take a completely different form of recognition and create a new image builed of the previous band's Image roots. ZILICH was worthless even if none or both of the original members have left said Paul Raven. The assertion of this two people will be ending of Zilch inconclusively reactions which did not put both of band's members “ on the same wave length “ was exactly what made Paul Raven to leave the band.
(There are , however lots of speculations about Zilich's separation, I guess the truth is somewhere in the middle as there are so many things we have no idea about, so is hard to prognosis something) the fact is, this two people having different opinions did not reached to a common point opinion there was a common point. It was a hysterical to close inside their emotions and terminate what once they build together , but it was a way to protect the things that were left over from HIDE which wasn't among us to lead them.
" This is not the subject of anyone's intervention in this production strictly ours"

I will release this music we made, and that includes the soundtrack of Aokusaku , it is certain that. (This seem to look an exclusive and conservative reaction don't you think ? remember the sense of incongruity to the "general HIDE picture" that hard affected them HIDE's death at the time ) Despite of being stuck in an undeserved reputation such as his lifetime of alcohol and drugs addiction, HIDE's depicted state of mind it was seen mainly in distant parts from further real image. This was the trigger which sweep the two men to what was brought to a nervous breakdown.

"That guy HIDE was a madman, which
was never an angel like person. Hear that from me."said one of the Zilich band's members in a public television interview. Were this hatred words toward the defunct composer and vocalist of the band, just a scheme to rise awareness regarding Zilich ? Or was what the band's members truly believed about HIDE ? All I can say is that ZILICH became the most unstable Westernised band and it is no
exaggeration if I'd add that such ideas run out from paranoia is what separated the 2 left band members, having say all of these it is a wonder that the final work for the releasing of the album 3,2,1 was completed . It was way too much recordings and very little time to master the difficulties arise , the collisions between the two members had reached to an infinite number. Then as the result of that, Ray McVeight and Paul Raven started to remember of HIDE continuing saying " the guy was crazy" blaming HIDE for band's de-solution and all the bad-luck following his death. The truth was not even both of them together were enough inspired to find a way to “GLUE” the band together again.
Confabulating about HIDE's death's circumstances they tried to put all ZILICH's failure on the defunct member's shoulders . The concept of a next album was ''I'm no enemy to the guy'' and ''raising the white flag'', they were still in denial saying that the death of the vocalist/composer of the band does not necessarily mean the death of the band itself. They did arranged a bit the background of the album but they left HIDE's work intact trying to find a concept for a next album, even if they blamed HIDE for drinking and life stile, even if they tried to denigrate him in the eyes of the public...
they still couldn't keep ZILICH alive, none of them had HIDE's visionary imagery, so they ceased the activities with ZILICH and were rarely heard of ever since...
(Discussion of Zilich members upon HP "SKYJIN" 's release)

When Ray McVeigh had undertaken the production of "SKYJIN", he took it as his own first work. The album was build as a program framework music synthesised by a computer. This is a part where HIDE's voice was inserted by INA as was done before in a previous work, in fact HIDE's voice, was also the issue brought up here as the first point on the agenda in the initial album format. By creating a high-quality demo in the first place, Ray McVeigh thought he's going to gain back their fans and he surely tried
to convey his to the members involved later, a non-measurable chemical reaction was created by jam in between members .As a result, "3.2.1."was finalized with very much hardship, fighting to keep their work on the original format created by HIDE did not brought the expected results tough so Ray McVeigh started to doubt that will ever find the resources to substitute the creative mind of HIDE starting a bit to wonder about the loss of such abig treasure as HIDE's vision was for the band.
"What kind of reaction would have had this guy?" after day by day believing in the “drunk one's” disillusion Ray McVeigh wakes up one day saying
"This album will be simply ridiculous"

How could this be a revelation from HIDE? What was the sublimation of his talent, is not clear. There are, however some good parts anyhow it seems that he has found a clear answer to the fact that "whether ZILICH should continue to exist?" and as a result, "music shouldn't be unclear as it is", "shouldn't be unclear, but sane" having himself reached to this conclusion the end was inevitable

The title is "SKYJIN"
We are not a "gaijin", "we are sky Jin (people who came from the sky)." God of Shi human type living in the universe”.
I wonder if you can find anything you want to know from here? If there's something more to add, please leave a comment!
